The Mulvane Quilt Show can be traced back to 1979, when many local quilters' hand crafted quilts, were displayed for visitors to admire. The show was hosted and organized by local quilters and the Mulvane Historical Society. Quilts were on display at the Mulvane Public Library for the months of July and August. Throughout the 1980s and the early 1990s, the show, which was hosted by the Mulvane Meadowlarks, was held at several locations including the United Methodist Church and Bloomenshine Grade School. From 1992 on, the show had been at Mulvane Grade School, with the Meadowlarks as hosts. This year, members of the Sit N' Stitch and Sew What's quilt clubs are collaborating to make the quilt show a success and it will be held at the Mulvane Middle School at 915 Westview Drive. Viewers will be able to vote for their favorite quilts and prizes will be awarded.
